First Birthday!!!

So it has been a little over a week now since my baby turned 1! I can't believe that Grady is one year old! It seriously seems like he was just a little guy, not anymore! At Grady's one year check up he weighed in at 27lbs and is in the 95th percentile for his height and his head as well as his weight! Grady is such a fun and happy kid. We discovered on his birthday, at his party that he loves to be the center of attention! He loved every min of that day! We started of the day with a little photo shoot with our cousin Abbey up at Temple Square. I can't wait to get the pictures back. All three of my kids were so good and smiled. This is an accomplishment! We then met up with Grandma Jackie, Grandpa Gordon, and Grandma Susan for lunch at Goodwood for some good BBQ!

As you can tell, Very happy kid!
Loves to eat and then...
He got very sleepy!!!
After lunch we headed for some shopping. Grady and Grandpa Gordon slept in the car while us girls went and did the damage! We then headed home to get ready for the nights festivities! Grady was so excited for the balloons that we got for him. Little did he know what he was in for with the birthday cake! My good friend Leslie made the birthday cake for me, and oh my gosh she did an amazing job as you can tell from the pictures below! The cake was so cute that I didn't want to let him touch it, I knew that he would go for it and oh boy did he ever!!!

LOOK AT THIS CAKE!!!
It just doesn't get much cuter than this!!!
Thanks Leslie!
Leslie even made these cute little bear
cupcakes to go with the cake!
I know, she is amazing!
So here is where the fun begins!
Grady already wants to just go for it but I
had to get a few pictures first.
Look at his face and the look of,
wait til I get my hands on you!
Here is the video of what happened next...

At the beginning he was a little timid...
Then he took a bite...

Then another...
Then he was sold and there was no stopping him!

When we took the cake away he was very upset and so
to make him happy again all we had to do was hand
him a balloon!

So I saw this on my friends blog and thought it was a great idea. We wrapped up a box of tissues for one of Grady's presents and it was hilarious! He loved it! Of course we know that babies love to play with paper and so this made the ideal present. The best part was that he couldn't figure out why when he would pull one out there was another one there waiting for him to pull, and then another, and another!

Then he got curious to see if they tasted any good!
This didn't last long because it wasn't as exciting as making
a mess and tearing each tissue in half after pulling it out!

Happy Birthday Grady!
You are such a joy and a blessing to our family and it would never be complete without you in it! We are so grateful for you and love to see that smile of yours that is so contagious and can brighten anyones day!
We love you so much!

LOVE IT!!! Okay, Grady smacking his lips is the best thing ever!!!! Way to dig into the cake Grady! Thata boy! And, I'm so glad you tried the tissue thing for him! Reed loved it!!! He kept looking over at us like, "aren't you gonna stop me?" Why do we buy toys again when cheap boxes of tissue make them happier??? :)

Kim,
Ran across your blog from someone on my sister in laws list. Grady has grown so much. The kiddos look great! I'd love to share my blog with you-it's kind of pathetic because I'm just starting up! Hope you guys are well. We really miss everyone back at home! Email me and I'll send you an invite to our blog if you are interested. Dad is in Special Forces so I have it private until I'm comfy with the whole thing. Take care, Kim!
