A Week All About Halie!

Being the Star of the Week is something that every kindergartener looks forward to all year long! Halie has been so patient in waiting for her turn to make her poster that would hang in the hall for all to see, to take her show and tell and to be spotlighted! Halie's turn came on the week of her birthday. Halie helped make her poster that hung up in the hall at the school all week. She loves her poster and will not take it apart just yet! Halie had a great time taking her favorite toys to school to show her class. One of the highlights was when on Friday she took the entire class a treat! Halie loves to make things and then give them away. She loves to serve others and to see the smile on their face when she gives them something that they will enjoy!

For Halie's birthday she recieved a new desk to put in her bedroom. Halie wants to be an artist and she loves to color, draw, and paint any chance that she can get.
It didn't take her long to get to work! She was very excited to have her "own" spot to do all of her projects!
On Halie's birthday we had grandma's and grandpa's and uncles come over for some cake and ice cream. Halie wanted to have cupcakes so that is what we did instead of a cake! Even though Halie loves her birthday because it is all about her she is still a little shy when she is put in the spotlight!
Grady enjoyed the cupcakes and thought that it was his birthday all over again! He loved this run of birthdays and all of the fun and treats that come along with them!
Halie opening her present from grandma and grandpa!
Great Grandma Chipman shared her ice cream with Grady! If someone has food around he knows about it and will sit at your feet and beg for some until you give in!

The day after Halie's official birthday we did the friend party! I think she had a great time with all of her friends. When I say all, I mean almost ALL of her friends. I didn't know that when you invite 6 year old girls to a birthday party that they ALL want to come and will do all that they can to come!!! I think we ended up with a total of 16 girls! I know it was crazy and at the same time it was a blast. The girls had a lot of fun and they all got along great! As you can see they loved to dressing up! I thought that I had a lot of dress ups, until I had 16 girls that all want to dress up then I ran short!
Most of them even brought presents that were so sweet for Halie on her special day! They were so sweet and enjoyed giving to Halie!
So when you have 16 girls show up and you only have a dozen cupcakes we had to turn to plan B. I made a last minute cake while the girls played and lets just say that by the looks of this cake that there is a reason that I have such wonderful and talented friends make my cakes for me!!! It turned out OK and the girls and Halie were happy with it and that is all that really matters!

I think that everyone had a great time and I know that Halie did!!!
I am so greatful for my Halie Sue Bear! She is such a sweetheart and is, most of the time, such a great help around the house and with her younger brothers. Halie loves to do all that she can to make others happy and to feel special. I love Halie's birthday because that is our turn to make her feel special and loved. I can't believe that she is 6 years old! Time goes by too fast. We love you Halie so much and hope that you know just how loved you are!!! Happy Birthday Halie Sue!

She is such a sweet little girl! Glad she had a happy day and your cake looks great, especially because you whipped it out in no time! I'm impressed. And I didn't realize all your kids had spring birthdays! You've been busy!!!
